Workforce Academies

Your organization’s academy, built from an accredited catalog.

An academy is a team plan with structure around it: a curriculum mapped to your roles, staff moving through in cohorts, and a capstone tied to your own operations. Start from one of the models below and we will adapt it with you.

Academy models

Six starting points, by sector.

Each model draws on existing Coral Plus pathways, shown by code. Roles, sequence, and capstone are adjusted to your organization during design.

For community health centers and FQHCs

FQHC Workforce Academy

Health centers ask a small staff to cover billing, quality reporting, and care coordination at once. This academy trains each of those functions against the same operating picture.

Front desk and billing staff, care coordinators, quality leads, site managers
Curriculum
Revenue cycle operations, team-based care and care coordination, quality measurement, HIPAA and compliance
Format
Self-paced courses in role-based cohorts
Capstone
An improvement project on one of your own measures — a denial rate, a quality metric, a workflow
For critical access and rural hospitals

Rural Hospital Academy

Rural hospitals cannot send staff away for training or backfill them while they are gone. Everything here is online, self-paced, and sized for people covering more than one job.

Why cohorts and a capstone

Training sticks when people use it on their own work.

Course completion on its own does not change how a department runs. Staff need a reason to apply what they learned, colleagues doing the same, and a manager who is watching the result. That is what the academy structure adds to the catalog.

  • Curriculum map by roleEach role gets a pathway and a starting level, so nobody repeats what they already know.
  • Cohorts with a start dateGroups begin together and move at a shared pace, which keeps completion from drifting.
  • A capstone on your operationsEach cohort ends with a project on a real measure or workflow in your organization.
  • Reviews with leadershipScheduled check-ins on progress, completions, and what the capstone projects found.
How an academy comes together

Design, pilot, then scale.

  1. Scope

We agree on the roles, headcount, and the operational results you want the academy to support.

  2. Design

You review the curriculum map, cohort calendar, and capstone options before anything launches.

  3. Pilot cohort

One group runs first. We adjust pacing and content based on what they and their managers report.

  4. Scale

Further cohorts start on a set calendar, with leadership reviews at agreed intervals.

Common questions

About academies.

Our sector is not listed. Can you still build one?

Yes. The six models are starting points. If your organization sits somewhere else in healthcare, we build the curriculum map from the nine pathways the same way.

Can the academy carry our name?

Yes. Academies can run under your organization’s name and branding. See white-label deployment under Custom Programs.

Can we include our own training alongside Coral Plus courses?

Yes. Existing in-house training can be added to the curriculum, and where it qualifies, converted into CEU-bearing courses.

Is an academy eligible for workforce or grant funding?

That depends on the funder and your state. We can provide the program description, accreditation details, and outcomes documentation that funding applications usually ask for.

Tell us your sector, roles, and headcount. We will come back with a draft curriculum map to react to.
